In 2019 my best friend, Dan, and I took a weeklong trip up to one of the prettiest national parks, Acadia, to reward ourselves for getting through college! The first day in Acadia National Park was truly overwhelming because it was absolutely stunning and there were very few people there. We had decided to spend the first day exploring the nearby cliff edge. I walked along looking for compositions while Dan looked for wildlife within tide pools. After a few hours of hiking and avoiding tide waves, we arrived at Otter Point. Here, we found an expansive  amount of rich tide pools. Along with these beautiful pools, we were accompanied by moody weather and pounding waves. Funny enough, one of the waves got lucky and took Dan out. I was blown away by the richness of the tide pools but we continued to search for more. As the gloomy weather on our first day continued, we decided to drive around the park. We saw a trail called the "Gorge Trail'' and had no idea where it led. But, we had nowhere to be, so we explored. This trail was breathtaking. In no way was it easy. Along the beginning section, we strolled along a calming stream which led to this waterfall. If I could have, I would have sat here the rest of the day. It was so peaceful, but we knew we had to carry on to find out what this trail had to offer. As the peaceful part ended, and the climb began, fog rolled in. Dan and I had no idea where we were heading, but we were drooling over the pure beauty of this trail and continued on. Turning corners and scrambling up rock in our Chacos, we gained elevation and went deeper into the fog. We suspected we were on a cliff edge, but the fog would not let up. Eventually, we pierced through the surrounding evergreens which revealed this image. With the comforting fog, I didn't want to stop and it definitely was a great way to start the trip.
